Round brilliant is the most popular diamond shape, representing almost two thirds of all diamonds sold worldwide. Renowned for its unrivalled fire and brilliance, round brilliant complements many iconic & time-honored styles.
Round Brilliant diamonds most closely follow the natural contours of rough diamond crystals. This means less cutting is required to shape the stone which results in less waste and a larger carat weight. This is one reason why Round Brilliant diamond offer excellent value for money. Round Brilliant Cuts are mainly used in engagement rings and are popular in stud earrings and pendants.

Color is the main characteristic of any natural color diamond, and there are endless combinations of color in diamonds. It is further affected by the intensity of colors, but the basic colors remain those of Red, Green, Yellow and Blue. The color scales run D, E and F for most expensive white diamonds to categories from M to Z for light yellowish color.
White diamonds are not really “white”. White diamonds are in fact lacking in color - they are ‘colourless’, like water. True colorless diamonds are quite rare. Brown and yellow are the most common colors in natural-colored diamonds. Diamonds with natural pink, blue, orange, green, red, and violet body colors are extremely rare and valuable. These fancy-colored diamonds lay outside the white coloured range.
While the White diamonds are graded and valued based on the absence of coloured, fancy colored diamonds are valued based on the presence of color. Shades that are deep and distinct are rated higher than weak or pale shades. Colored diamonds with a pure hue are generally more desirable than those with modifying colors. Plus, the size of the gem and the quality of the cut are also very important.
Among the fancy-colored diamonds, brown, gray, or black are the most affordable. Next in rarity are the yellow diamonds. Blue, green, and pink diamonds are rarer than yellow diamonds. Orange, violet, and red diamonds are at the top of rarity in the category of fancy-colored diamonds.
At Anita Diamonds, we have an impressive collection of Fancy colored diamonds. With its vast network and efficient stock management, Anita Diamonds has been regarded as one of the most trusted white diamond dealers in Antwerp.
Colored diamonds are purchased by-
Consumers who buy them for making their designer jewelry. Especially the people who love beautiful gems and a custom-designed setting with sparkling fancy-colored diamonds. Museums purchase colored diamonds when building or improving their gemstone and mineral exhibits. Since Colored diamonds are among the most popular exhibits at many museums.
Gem collectors also purchase a variety of colored diamonds. Research institutions also buy colored diamonds for the purpose of study and as reference collections. (For ex. The Gemological Institute of America has the world’s largest collection of colored diamonds that they use for study and to improve their ability to grade colored diamonds.)
As Colored diamond prices have climbed steadily for the past several decades, few people purchase colored diamonds for the investment purpose with the hope of price appreciation or to own a very small item with a very high value. However, there is no guarantee that this price trend will continue.
Considering buying white diamonds or colored diamonds?
In each of the above division we have a wide variety of products, which are further separated by the following parameters.
Color is one of the most important factors when choosing a diamond. It deeply impacts the look and charm of the diamond. Majority of diamonds are classified in the category known as “cape”, which varies from the perfectly colorless (i.e., White) to a slight Yellow tint.
Natural diamonds as well as lab grown diamonds are available in many colors and tints. The traditional "clear" stones used in most engagement/wedding rings are known as white diamonds. Whereas fancy-colored diamonds have vivid shades like pink, green and yellow.
The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has standardized diamond color grading on a D-to-Z scale. Similarly, IGI (International Gemological Institute) also uses a D-to-Z scale but for the lab grown diamonds. In the color grading scale, D is the highest color and Z is the lowest. All diamonds on this letter scale are considered "white," although on the lower end they can have a tinge of yellow.
If you’re considering buying a single stone ring, it is advisable to not go below ‘G’. Any point below that, you will start to get slightly less clear white color.
‘Color’ being a crucial factor impacts the diamond’s value. Diamonds can vary from blue, white to yellow brown. Nonetheless, the lighter the color of a diamond, the rarer and more valuable it is.
At Anita Diamonds, we have an interesting variety of the most exotic Colored diamonds in various sizes. Fancy Colors we deal in ranges from the Darker Yellows Tints to Blues, Greens, Pinks, etc. However, we specialize in the G-M color.
Being a versatile Colored diamonds dealer, we deal in Fancy Colors [Fancy diamonds] as well but not as diversely as in the white diamonds (D-Z).
By clarity we mean the absence of inclusions (flaws within the diamond) and blemishes (flaws on the surface of the diamond). The presence of inclusions visible to the naked eye is referred to as an “included diamond” (I). The degree of clarity of diamonds that are pure to the naked eye is measured with a 10x enlargement and qualified from IF to SI. The extremely high light refraction index of the diamond and its high power of reflection make it difficult for the naked eye to see the inclusions.
IF = Internally Flawless
This is defined after a 10x enlargement through a magnifying glass. When purchasing an IF diamond, demand a recognized certificate (GIA, HRD or IGI) certifying its clarity.
VVS = Very, Very Small inclusion(s)
Very difficult to locate with the 10x magnifying glass. The location and number of inclusions determine the difference between VVS1 and VVS2. When purchasing a VVS diamond, demand a recognized certificate.
VS = Very Small inclusion(s)
Difficult to locate with the 10x magnifying glass. Location and number of inclusions determine the difference between VS1 and VS2. Demand a recognized certificate.
SI = Small Inclusion(s)
Easily (*) located with a 10x magnifying glass (* easy for an experienced professional) and they do not affect the brilliance. SI1 and SI2 represent a good clarity, above the quality known as “commercial” that you usually find in shops. A good S “i” is an “i”ntelligent choice (but all Sis are not the same). A certificate is always recommended for diamonds of 0.75 carat and more.
SI3, a “border-line” category to choose “eyes wide open”. Chose Si3 with off-center inclusions.
I1 = Included
They are visible to the naked eye (of an experimented professional) and slightly affect the brilliance, but above all they affect the idea of the beauty of the diamond itself.
I2
These inclusions are bigger or more numerous, visible to the naked eye and they diminish the brilliance, even more so for the I3.
High clarity diamonds are a lot more common than they earlier used to be. That is because it is easier to enhance the clarity of a diamond through the artificial treatments and techniques. The diamond is not necessarily more valuable, it just looks more valuable at first glance.
At Anita Diamonds, we are committed to giving you the true quality of natural diamonds, with the clarity provided by nature; and not enhanced/treated. We do not sell clarity enhanced diamonds that have been treated/ processed in any way. All loose diamonds are handpicked and double checked by our expert team of professional gemologists to ensure they are 100% natural. We specialize in IF-SI1 clarities.
Diamond carat weight measures how much a diamond weigh. Diamonds are sold by the carat (shown as ct.), which is a unit of measure for diamond traders. Certified larger diamonds normally start 1.00 carat & above.
Diamond weight: 1 carat = 0,20 gramme
A 1 carat diamond is not twice as large as a 0.50 carat diamond, a merely 25% to 30% (see the table at the right), but costs more than double. A diamond does not weigh much, but carat is the factor that "weighs" most on the price.
Two diamonds of the same carat weight often have a very different value, as per their individual quality (cut grade, color, and clarity). All else being equal, diamond price increases with diamond carat weight because larger diamonds are rarer and more desirable.
We specialize in 1.00 carat to 20 carats. As a Dossier diamond dealer in Antwerp, we present all our loose diamonds of up to 2 carats with a GIA diamond dossier. So as to help you decide if the diamond, you’re purchasing is right or not.
A Diamond Certificate is a detailed document, specifying the unique diamond specifications like its color grade, carat weight, carat grade and clarity grade. The diamond certificate is a guarantee, protecting you against arbitrariness, guarding you from ignorance and thus deception. And it also drives the price.
The following certificates have an excellent reputation in wholesale loose diamond industry:
We deliver the diamonds that are certified with all these labs, but we majorly work with GIA and HRD labs.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) created the 4Cs grading system for diamonds – color, cut, clarity and carat weight. As the GIA is renowned for having the strictest and most consistent grading standards of the leading labs, the GIA certificate is considered as the benchmark for assessing a diamond’s quality.
When you buy a GIA certified diamond, you have the confidence of knowing what you are exactly buying and how much you should pay, based on current market comparisons. GIA certified diamond comes with a GIA certificate, which guarantees that you have purchased a high-quality natural stone, rather than a synthetic stone or a fracture-filled stone that seems deceivingly bright.
The Hoge Raadvoor Diamant (HRD), translated as the "Diamond High Council" is the European counterpart to the GIA. It was established in 1973 in Antwerp. Currently, the HRD represents global diamond trade to diamond organizations and public governments. Consequently, it monitors and reports the export and import of over half of the world's loose diamonds.
HRD also leads the industry in advanced research and education in diamonds and other gemstones. That is why an HRD diamond certificate is highly regarded among consumers and jewelers.
An IGI (International Gemological Institute) Certificate clearly discloses the details of any item it accompanies, providing confidence for both buyer and seller. An IGI Certification provides an assurance that we abide by the specifications stated in the report articulated by an independent and professional gemological laboratory – IGI, which Anita Diamonds has been cooperating with for many years.
With more locations around the globe than any other laboratory, IGI is the world's most trusted name for the expert and impartial grading of diamonds, gemstones, and jewelry. Regardless of location or marketplace, an authentic IGI Laboratory Report is the universal language of trust and confidence in the gemological world and should be considered an essential part of any transaction.
The HRD and IGI laboratories offer the possibility of delivering “sealed diamond” certificates (diamonds sealed in a transparent polyester box). Laser inscription of the cert number is an option. The GIA laboratory delivers diamonds enclosed in a paper parcel: a micro laser inscription is placed on the girdle of the diamond with its certificate number and the logo of the GIA laboratory.
When you buy a loose diamond from Anita Diamonds, you can always be assured of the highest quality standards. Every piece of diamond is intricately cut to maximize its brilliance. It goes through a thorough quality check and is then taken through certification. Moreover, certified loose diamonds have a higher value than non-certified diamonds in terms of resale and upgrading.
