Certified diamond dealers are now seeing an increasing demand for diamonds and this demand is increasing every year.
Diamond Market in Belgium:
Diamond dealers in Belgium see a record-high increase in exports of polished diamonds. The exports are reported to be increased by 21% year on year to $660 million in January. The trend gained momentum as the holiday season progressed last month. According to data released by Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), the average prices increased by 28%, though there was a drop in shipments. In 2021, polished diamond exports rose 35% estimated.
Rough diamond dealers in Belgium are experiencing a robust demand but not enough supply. Fancy colour diamond dealers in Antwerp see an increased demand for fancy diamonds, especially D and IF diamonds. Fancy colours are also estimated to move well towards better valuations.
Diamond Market in Israel:
Diamond dealers in Israel also experiencing a price rise though the demands from USA and China have slowed down. The demands have slowed down which is why diamond dealers are struggling to replace the sold goods. The market is ripe for diamonds ranging from 1 to 2 carats, G-H colour scale, and VS-SI clarity diamonds. The demands from Diamond Bourse have slowed due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
Polished diamond exports jumped 35% year on year to $453.8 million for the month, with the total volume rising 55%. The average price of diamonds in Israel fell 13% per carat. January polished diamonds import advanced by 44%. The rough diamonds import surged by 45% while exports increased by 89%.
Diamonds in Demand:
The fancy diamond market sees a great demand across all sizes and colours. 1.20 to 3.99 ct., F-J, VS-SI is the hottest diamond category in demand with scarcities observed. Fancy diamonds below 0.30 carats also see a significant rise since Diwali. Similar to the previous month, this month too diamond prices are influenced by the shortage in supply.
Diamond enthusiasts encourage the rapid interest in fancy shape diamonds for engagement rings. The interest has given rise to the demands of Ovals, Pears, Emeralds, Princesses, long Radiants and Marquises diamonds. The rise gives an obvious push to the diamond prices.
