The necklace features the remarkable 11.6-carat Laguna Blu diamond, which happens to be the largest blue diamond ever to be sold at an auction. The piece is a unique creation resulting from a collaboration between Bulgari and Sotheby's.
The fancy vivid blue diamond has the rarest and highest colour grade for any blue diamond, as rated by the Gemological Institute of America. The diamond is set to be sold by Sotheby's in Geneva in mid-May as the headliner of its Luxury Week sale. The estimated value of the stone is around $25 million, which will be the first time it will be on auction since the 1970s.
